About the Work: 

“ Never Far” was one of my earliest compositions in college. I was interested in this idea that no matter how bad or good things were in our lives, we are often one small shift away from a completely different life, mindset, or situation. With hindsight, I recognize that our 20s can generally be very pivotal. We’re learning about the world, learning about ourselves, and making decisions about the type of person we’d like to be. Things can change quickly and dramatically. I think on a subconscious level I was aware of life’s shifting nature while composing “ Never Far” , and that is reflected in how the musical material changes dramatically while remaining connected.
